Achnatherum hymenoides is a perennial bunchgrass with beautiful diffuse seed heads.
Description
Growing Conditions
Very drought tolerant. Prefers sandy or rocky soils and full sun.
Ecology
Palatable to livestock and wildlife. Good for soil stabilization in sites prone to wind erosion. Native grasses are also an important component of pollinator habitat, as they provide nesting sites for native bees and are the larval host plant of many butterfly and moth species.
