About us

The mission of Aster Valley Farm is to foster reciprocity with local ecosystems through native plant production and education.

We strive for a healthy relationship between the human and ecological communities in the four corners area. We provide native plants, consultations for land restoration and planting, and education about the benefits of natives.

Who We Are

Tyler Turk
Founder
Tyler has a BA in ecology and molecular biology and an MS in range science. She has 7 years of experience in the field of restoration ecology, where she has led both research and applied restoration projects. Highlights of her work include studying the understory vegetation response to fuels reduction treatments, researching seeding methodologies, and working on restoration projects for threatened butterfly species like the monarch.
Makane Mason
Founder
Makane has a BA in ecology and an MS in agricultural biology. His thesis research investigated the effects of cover crops on the plant pathogen Phytophthora capsici . His education and experience span controlled environment agriculture, the soil microbiome, and fungal culturing and cultivation.
